Set within an east-facing canal site in Broadbeach Waters, this six-bedroom residence emerges from a close collaboration with Jasper Brown Architect. Just a kilometre from the shoreline, the site offers a quiet pocket of water with panoramic glimpses of the Gold Coast skyline.
At the heart of the home lies a landscaped courtyard—a central space that gathers filtered sunlight and disperses it softly throughout the adjacent living areas. Rather than acting as a boundary, the courtyard becomes a living threshold between inside and out, connecting rooms with light, shadow and foliage.
On the eastern edge, a layered garden steps down towards the canal, embedding a terrace and pool within its contours. From here, views extend outward across water and sky. The upper-level master suite shares this orientation, with a private balcony that draws in the same horizon line.
The western façade takes on a more sculptural, restrained presence. A recessed volume, clad in tiled masonry, marks the formal entry. Above, slender timber battens lend warmth and texture, contrasting the rough-rendered base below. Together, the elements form a composition that is at once solid and open, quiet yet expressive. This residence is not defined by overt gestures, but by how it breathes—with light, with material, with the daily rhythms of the people who inhabit it.
